New project car. Bought in Dec 2011. The car is a 1997 2 door Impreza
STI Type R 555 edition. The Type R was originally released on 22nd
January 1997 and was launched to celebrate the arrival of Subarus WRC
car.
This is how the car looked before I bought the shell, the shell is
being stripped of all parts for a full respray inside and out. The
underside will be undersealed and all subframes, control arms etc will
be powder coated. All the rubber bushes are being binned and replaced
with Powerflex polyurethane bushes.
This is how the shell looks at the moment.
The old wiring loom is being replaced
with a custom loom, weight saving of almost 15kg.
