Welcome to www.bergsport.co.uk
My
name is David Allan, I own a Subaru Impreza and use it as a daily car.
The car is still registered for the road but I want to gradually
convert it into a track day car. So far I have driven it at xxx track
day events. The car is already slightly modified with more plans to
modify further in the future.
I have taken the car to Crail afew times. The first
trip there i managed a 1/4 mile time of 14.1s. This time was set when
the car was still unmodified. Before i managed to try for a better time
the engine took a gulp of water. The engine blew itself apart a week
later. The second trip to Crail wasn't as much fun, the big end
bearings started knocking (that was the end of engine no. 2).
Engine no. 3 has managed a trip across europe to a race meeting at
Wolsfeld, Germany. But i have yet to set a better 1/4 mile time at
Crail. With the extra power i have now there should be good drop in my
times.
My dad is Kenny Allan and he competes in the German
Hillclimb championship, the hillclimb car
is an ex GpA Ford Escort Cosworth rally car. I travel over to Germany
as often as possible to help out with rebuilding of the car and to
support at events.
The German Hillclimb
championship takes place from May to October and is usually about 12
rounds, in Germany, Austria, Luxemburg and Switzerland. The tracks are
all normal roads, closed to the public for the weekend, the drivers
race against the clock to set the quickest time over a measured
distance.
I
have bought a 2 door Type R to reshell my old car. The car is a 1997
model which was imported into the UK in 2007. Not any sign of rust!
See the Type R section here
for details.
